The 2023 MLTAQ Gold Coast Languages Speech Contest took place last term, with a large contingent of QAHS students participating in the event. The event is hosted by the Gold Coast Branch of the Modern Language Teachers’ Association of Queensland and held at Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus. Over 2000 students took part in the contest, which incorporated multiple language divisions including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and Yugambeh. QAHS also featured in the entertainment program, with an incredible Chinese dance performance! We pass on our gratitude and thanks to the wonderful QAHS Group 2 Language teachers for their involvement in the lead up and during the MLTAQ event.
Josie Hamilton was honoured to be selected on the day of the competition to present her award-winning speech (French non-background category) at the Awards presentation event.
