Welcome back to the sports desk for Semester 2. Firstly, we wish our teams the best of luck as QAHS students, staff and parents take on the Kokoda Challenge this weekend. It is outstanding to see a record number of QAHS teams taking on one of Australia's toughest adventure challenges!
Final round of the QA Sport Day program for 2023
The last round for 2023 of the new QA Sport Day program was held yesterday for our Year 10 and 11 students. The level of engagement, connection with peers and staff and sheer joy of participating in new physical pursuits was evident across the program. The photos below capture some of the activities that students and staff were engaged in during the program.

A huge thank you to our wonderful QAHS staff team who all played a role in leading, supervising, planning and designing the new program, to enable a positive and purposeful experience for all concerned.
May we congratulate all students for engaging in the program, with many stepping outside of their comfort zone and participating in activities such bouldering, wellness (yoga, meditation, tai chi) and ice skating for the first time! The IB Learner profile characteristics were certainly on display including balanced, risk-taker, principled, open-minded, caring and reflective.
All students and staff will have the opportunity to share their experience and contribute any ideas for future planning of the sports program. We aim to continually improve our sporting program for the betterment of the QAHS community. A survey will be released shortly.
If you wish to share a story with us in relation to your sporting journey, please email us at sport@qahs.eq.edu.au.
