Year 11 student performs at the Evolution Dance Competition
The Evolution of Dance competition is one of Australia's largest performing arts competitions, with 18 regional events in 2023. Year 11 student Shivani Whala performed recently, with her team placing 2nd in the Hip Hop 15 years performance age category.

In the contemporary and jazz category, the team finished with special mentions and a 5th placing.
Congratulations Shivani and we look forward to following your journey in Dance and Performing Arts.
Year 11 student competes at the Badminton State Trial event in Brisbane
Lily Xu is one of our resident Badminton players at QAHS, often joining Mr Yang's group on a Friday afternoon in the Sports Hall. Lily recently competed in the Brisbane Under 19 Championships Singles and Mixed trials for 2023 QLD U19 Team.
Lily put on an excellent display at the championships, finishing 5th in the singles and 5th in doubles.
Lily mentioned that this was her first competition she has played this year and first time participating in U19 trials. Overall, she noted that it was nice to see how everyone's playing styles have changed and identified areas in which she wishes to keep working on.

Well done Lily, keep up the great work in your sport of Badminton.
